I had a spare WXOP heater. Many would now say that this heater is subpar and doesn't provide enough heat, calling it the worst heater. Some might call it terrible and so on. It's better to go for tried and tested options like Neison or BEHR. Ordering BEHR might be too expensive, and there's uncertainty about what you'll receive. It might even be a Chinese product. Similarly, Neison is also Chinese, and reviews on it are split 50/50. Some experience leaks or poor heating, while others find it heats well. But something needs to be done because driving in winter with barely any warmth from the heater is not feasible.
Why WXOP, you might ask? Well, it's because this heater is proven. It has been in my B4 for 5 years already. There's a record in the service book about when I changed the heater. The main coolant radiator is also a WXOP, and it has been like this for several years.
And it heats very well. One could say it's as good as the original. When the engine temperature is at 50 degrees, warm air is already blowing. And the cabin heats up much faster compared to other radiators. This heater is all-metal, specifically fully aluminum. During winter, I only use the 2nd setting, never using 3rd or 4th, because the 2nd setting is sufficient to warm the cabin. I won't claim that this is the best heater, as everyone makes their own choice about which heater to install. I made my choice and I don't regret it.
